CSW
is an active member of HL7
UK. HL7 UK is the official UK affiliate of HL7. The mission of HL7 UK
is to support the development, promotion and implementation of HL7 standards
in ways which meet the needs of healthcare organisations, health professionals
and healthcare software suppliers in the United Kingdom. It is a voluntary
association of interested parties drawn from the supplier, user, provider
and technical expert members of the UK healthcare community.
CSW participates in a number of activities within HL7, both in the UK Affiliate organisation and internationally. These include:
- The development of models for interoperability of clinical data
- Membership of the HL7 UK Board
- Co-chairing HL7 UK's working group on Care Pathways and Decision Support
- Active contribution to international debates within HL7 regarding the nature and role of XML implementation of HL7 interoperability standards
CSW also represents HL7 in an informal UK network concerning the development of eGMS based metadata standards for electronic documents in social care.
